Hi there! I’m Amanda, and I like helping people understand themselves better.
I’ve always been interested in human behavior- What drives our choices? What makes us who we are? How can our behavior evolve and improve our lives?
Grounded in a down-to-earth, collaborative approach and rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, I am committed to helping clients develop more adaptive habits that support meaningful and fulfilling lives. While I work with a wide variety of clients, I am especially passionate about working with women and girls across the lifespan, providing a supportive space to navigate life’s challenges with compassion and clarity. My clinical focus includes treating obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) & anxiety disorders, autism, ADHD, disordered eating, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.
Informed by my own experience as a U.S. Army veteran, I am committed to supporting military families and fellow veterans, with a nuanced understanding of the cultural, relational, and psychological complexities that often accompany military service. I also have a strong clinical focus on working with first responders and healthcare professionals, recognizing the chronic stress, burnout, and trauma that are inherent in these high-intensity, service-oriented professions. My aim is to provide evidence-based, effective care that is not only personalized and trauma-informed but also culturally responsive and grounded in genuine human connection.
I have completed advanced training in the treatment of OCD, including exposure and response prevention (ERP) therapy, through the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety at the University of Pennsylvania. I have also received specialized education in maternal mental health and perinatal mood disorders through Postpartum Support International.
Outside of the therapy world, you can catch me trying to keep my plants alive, collecting spooky and bizarre trinkets, and spending time with my family. Originally from Texas, I’ve lived all over the United States. In the spring of 2024, life brought me to South Carolina, where I settled in the Columbia area.
